Seventh Annual Drama Festival Adjudged Outstanding Success
Winnipegosis Dramatic Society won the northern Manitoba Drama Festival shield for the second year running at the close of the seven festival held in the town hall. The winning show Smoke Screen directed by W. B. Dempsey Jr. earned the top acting honors for Patricia Dempsey Jr. and Pauline McArthur led junior and senior performers with standout roles and many schools shared in the festival prizes across drama, poetry, and folk dance.

The local fire brigade answered a call from the home of Robt Dickson on 3rd avenue S.W. early Tuesday morning. Fire started in a room next to the kitchen and the cause is not known. Considerable damage resulted.
