Hail Storm Causes Heavy Losses Across District
A severe hail storm Sunday night struck northeast of town driving extensive crop damage from wheat oats and barley. Losses include W E Robson 13 1/2 acres and Geo Cornwall total loss with insurance claims noted, while Bay Centre area reports Arthur Akers Bert Bond Lach McLean and others also hit hard. The storm followed a hot day and rain aided some recovery in damaged fields.

Farmers Hold Convention in Dauphin Constituency
The United Farmers Political Organization of the Federal constituency of Dauphin held a successful July 15 convention in the Pollen Block with 108 delegates from many locals including Ashville Bay Centre Bicton Heath Dauphin Plains Edition Ethelbert Garland Gilbert Plains Grand Narrows Grand View Halley Kosin Mountview Pine River Sifton Silverwood South Bay Spruce Creek Spruce Bluff Trembola Valley River Vermilion Lemburg. Delegates agreed to pool transportation and stopover expenses, reducing costs for distant members. C A Mack of Gilbert Plains presided as president, while C H Burnell outlined UF activities Manitoba wide and canvass plans. The group favored completing rural canvassing quickly and mobilizing urban support across the constituency.
