Death of Mrs Hall Spruce Creek
The death of Mrs Janes Hall of Spruce Creek is announced. She passed away peacefully on Tuesday the 13th at her daughter’s home in Dauphin after pioneering years in the area. She leaves five sons and five daughters, with 64 grandchildren and great grandchildren. The funeral was held Thursday the 15th at the Methodist Church and burial followed at Riverside Cemetery with Rev Thomas Neville officiating.

Fatal Shooting Accident At Swan P River
A sleighing party evening near Swan P River ended in tragedy when Dorothy Montgomery, 16, died from a 22 rifle bullet. Leslie Wilson, 17, initially said self inflicted but later claimed the rifle discharged accidentally by Wilson. Coroner’s inquest recommended notifying the Attorney General. Dauphinetown prosecutor C S A Rogers led the inquiry.

Dr H F E Bewell of Dauphin reports the death of his father, Wm Bewell, aged 75, in Victoria B C on January 12. The pioneer, born in Greenbank Ontario, moved west in 1902, lived at Reamer Manitoba, helped organize the Manitoba School Trustees Association and supported the U P. He leaves eight children. Also announced is the death of Mrs Hannah Rogers, 84, near Plumas January 7, first white woman north of Gladstone, survived by seven children including Geo W Rogers of Dauphin. Interment at Plumas Cemetery.

William Eagleson, long a respected local homesteader from Dauphin, died after a Saturday collapse at Wm Chartier's residence. He is remembered for 20 years of district service and farming on Aven ridge. Interment was at Riverside Cemetery.
