Christmas Hampers To Reach Dauphin Families In Need
A Dauphin Welfare group led by Councillor Solomon will distribute over a hundred Christmas hampers on Friday. Each hamper includes meat fruit and candy with toys for children. Scouts and Girls groups gathered and mended discarded toys totaling a substantial number. In cooperation with Miss K Arthur health nurse the society canvassed the town to reach all families.

Two men charged in stolen goods case pleaded guilty
Brown, released from Portage la Prairie jail last October, pleaded guilty before Magister Thos Little Satufiay to receiving and possessing stolen goods and awaits sentence January 5. Harry Stefniuk, Dauphin youth linked to the case, faces breaking and entering a general store in Togo, Saskatchewan, after police traced the goods. Police from RCM and Truphin collaborated on the investigation.

Dauphin Council Reports Water System Breakage Causes
Dauphin town council heard Sup’t Cooil explain the water distribution breakdown caused by a snow deficit. Edwards Creek froze to the bottom forcing water overflow. 58 men were stationed to cut channels to gravel and restore flow. The council noted no fire hazard despite pressure shortages and kept a 90 000 gallon reservoir for emergencies. Milk inspection found dairies above health standards. A master clock for the power house was discussed and 2000 yards of crushed stone for Dauphin roads in 1937 were authorized. Mayor and nine councillors attended.

Louis Flatfoot a Duck River Indian pleaded guilty to three counts of breaking and entering with intent to assault and was sentenced to three months in jail by Magistrate Little last week. He had gone on a spree with a gallon of homebrew on November 22 entering three houses during his wanderings.
