The Dauphin district 611 outlook shows a little better crop prospects than last year though northern areas near Etheltert report meager yields. Wheat is below average district wide due to rust and lodine damage. Barley yields vary with early crops fair to good but late barley poor. malting grade barley looks better. Excess moisture and weeds like wild oats hurt stands while armyworms are spotty. Haying is good, gardening favorable, oats and flax good but late. farmers hope for improved weather to finish maturing crops.

The overall pass rate at Composite High School fell to 83.6 percent from 87 percent. Of 4 369 papers, 3 655 exceeded the 50 percent pass mark, with declines in technical courses especially the third year at 92.1 percent. Grade IX dropped to 84 percent. academic grades X to XII improved slightly.

Jets streak over Dauphin in Canada air display

Dauphin Welcomes Churchill Excursion Attendees
232 travelers on the 18th Churchill excursion train halted in Dauphin for three and a half hours. American visitors from Madison Wisconsin and Minneapolis Minnesota led the turnout with southern guests noted for their friendliness.
