Large Attendance at Fair Highlights Poultry Show Wins

The annual fair drew large crowds despite a Friday rainstorm that paused open air events. Poultry exhibited record quality and the baby show drew many entrants with Mrs. McNaughton’s boy scoring top points. Mayor Bowman announced prize winners for each class as crowds cheered performances by local dancers and bands.

Entertainers Shine at Town Hall Friday Evening Show

Attendies enjoyed a strong program beginning with Box and Cox featuring Barker Code and Gladys Hall. The Simpson children impressed with bagpipe led dancing, followed by skilled colored artists and standout dancing by Allan Ross. McMurray's orchestra provided music as William Rintoul received praise for his town contributions.

Fowler Piano Co Display At The Fair

The Fowler Piano Co exhibit stood out at the fair as the only piano display. Its compact setup filled the space and Evoked a homely atmosphere with fine musical selections performed by Miss Kemp. The collection and tasteful arrangement earned praise for appealing to music lovers.

Exemption Board Appeals Report

Alex W Wallace and James A Hall of Dauphin faced exemptions denied while Wm A McDonald and A H Lawrence were allowed. Wyman Arthur and James A Hall received extensions until November 1st and 15th respectively. en Heard of Dauphin also allowed until November 1st.

Rev J A Cormie Accepts Call To Dauphin

Reverend J A Cormie, pastor of the Union church at the Pas, has informed his congregation he accepts the call to the Presbyterian church at Dauphin. He will be inducted as pastor here in September.

New Hospital for Dauphin and Rural Credit Visit

Hon. Edward Brown provincial treasurer visited Roblin with Premier Norris and Winnipeg business leaders to review the rural credit scheme. He endorsed a larger Dauphin hospital and suggested four district constituencies engage in funding with possible government help. Brown stressed current labor and material costs and anticipated favorable times for fundraising and northern Manitoba growth.

Toronto music pupils pass exams under Miss Tucker

The July prostitute examinations conducted for Miss Pearl Tucker's pupils at the A.T.C.M. saw Marguerite Smith and Edna Walker pass Primary Piano while Agnes McDonald Beth Crowe Mary Culbertson Constance Smith and Mary Walker earned Elementary Grade 2 honors or passes. Dorothy Beweil and Reba Riddell achieved Introductory Grade 1 honors.

Religious services scheduled for Sunday across churches

St Pauls and Cumberland churches announce Sunday schedule. St Pauls holds Holy Communion at eight, Sunday School at ten, sermon The Highest Knowledge at eleven, and an evening address on Suffering a Necessity. Presbyterian Methodist union services led by Rev J A Haw with morning topic The Uncalled Angels and evening Thou shalt not kill. Cumberland service at three follows Sunday school with Rev H P Everett preaching Forerunners for Christ and The Eng ing Bridegroom. All invite parishioners to attend.
