Descendants of Elijah Cox gathered at Darlington park for a reunion and picnic. A permanent organization was formed with R B Cox as President and Mrs James Peterson as Secretary and Treasurer. Committee members named to arrange next year’s event and program. Community History read by Mrs Siloam Craig chronicling early settlers and Elijah Cox lineage. Reunion to be held yearly on August 29, Elijah Cox’s birthday.

Cemetery Association Elects Officers
The Lutheran Cemetery Association held a well attended meeting at the Lutheran church last Saturday afternoon. Secretary and treasurer reports showed the association in excellent condition. Seven directors were elected for four and three year terms: Luther Booher Sam Flaningam Obed Needham Joe Shaver Chas Coleman Ted Caldwell Roy Wells. At a directors meeting Luther Booher was named President with Chas Coleman Vice President Sam Flaningam Secretary and Obed Needham Treasurer. The officers were commended for their management.
Friends Yearly Meeting Attended by Local Delegation
Miss Edith Paddack and Mrs. Emma Butler joined C. W. Pritchard and Walter Stewart for the Plainfield Friends Yearly Meeting from Saturday to Sunday. Stewart led singing at both services, Paddack presided at the piano, and Stewart performed a solo while he and Mrs. Ernest Weesner sang a duet at the afternoon gathering.

Wash Bowman Dies at 9 O'clock After Brief Illness
Henry Washington Bowman known as Wash Bowman died at his home 1409 East Main Street Crawfordsville after a three week battle with Brights disease. Born near Shannondale June 7 1847 he was twice married. his daughter Rozzie Morrison and grandson Craig Morrison survive along with his widow Phoebe Beck Bowman. Funeral services were held at Shannondale church with burial in Shannondale cemetery.

The twelfth Buskirk reunion was held last Sunday in the grove near Joshua Saidla’s home east of Darlington. Forty four members attended, with others from Lafayette Dayton Linden and Crawfordsville.
