Former local resident dies at home of son
Former local resident passed away yesterday afternoon at 2 30 at the home of her son Grant Cave four miles northwest of Crawfordsville. She had been in poor health for some time and the death was due to a complication of diseases. She was 85 years of age. In Darlington she and her husband were active M E church members. Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 1 6 Paige Home V V Appleby pastor First Methodist church will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery Crawfordsville.

Landmark Disappearing From Main Street Site
An old two story house on the south side of Main Street west of the railroad is being torn down after a failed attempt to move it. The site will host an upcoming Standard Oil oil station. Built by Philip Schriver in the early 1840s, it served as a boarding house in the 1870s and was moved there about thirty five years ago by Jim Wilhite. Local historian T. M. Campbell provided the history.

Book Lovers Club Sees Seminar on Moral Reading
Miss Ina Bowers hosted a pleasant Book Lovers' Club meeting with sixteen members present. The program featured a pamphlet on "What Makes a Book Immoral" read by Miss Bowers, a classification of authors by Miss Margaret Weesner, and guidance on directing children's reading by Mrs. E. E. Chambers. Refreshments followed served by Miss Bowers and her mother Mrs. Martha Bowers. Mrs. W. J. Frost will host the next meeting studying modern drama in March.

Farm accident leaves Mrs Cox with serious injuries
Mrs Cox, visiting a farm near town, suffered a dislocated wrist, broken finger, broken nose, and facial and body bruises including a hip bruise from a horse hoof. She crawled to the house and called Central, with Dr Pollom dressing wounds. Her son Warner found her semi conscious. She is improving and will move to Crawfordsville once able.
