Nine year old Hamlin Cox fell from the second story basement level during recess at the schoolhouse. He was unconscious, later treated by Drs Pollom and Peacock, with a fractured skull and severe back bruising. Condition remained serious but showed some improvement by noon. Funeral of Mrs. Coyner noted with details of birth, marriage, children, and surviving relatives.

Auto Wreck Near Plainfield Injures Crawfordsville Couple
Wm H Johnston of Crawfordsville was driving toward Martinsville last Saturday when his car, crossing the T H L and E tracks at Plainfield, was hit by an interurban tram. The impact hurled all occupants from the car. Mrs Johnston and Miss Johnston sustained no serious injuries. The back seat occupants Mrs Alice Cox of Martinsville and Miss Martha Johnston were jolted but unharmed. The tram stopped, transported the group to Indianapolis, and the Johnston couple returned home while Mrs Cox and Miss Johnston continued to Martinsville. The wrecked auto was towed to a Plainfield garage.

Bank Robbery At Waynetown Targets 24 Safety Deposit Boxes
Early Saturday yeggmen robbed Farmers and Merchants Bank at Waynetown lifting contents of 24 safety deposit boxes. A large wall safe was left intact after a two foot explosion. Losses include $200 in unregistered Liberty bonds and about $5,000 in registered bonds plus other notes. No alarm or night police presence aided the burglars. Insurance department of the Indiana State Bankers Association handles claims.
