Consultants Oppose New Four Year Medical School At ECU
A team of consultants concluded ECU s drive for a four year medical school was premature and ill conceived. They urged no state resources be committed to a new UNC system medical school and recommended expanding teaching hospitals and aid to private schools such as Bowman Gray and Duke. The one year ECU medical school should continue, possibly expanding to 20 students if UNC Chapel Hill gains clear authority over ECU s program.
