Final 89th Congress Votes Recorded for Virginians
Washington AP reports how Virginia members of the 89th Congress were recorded on final roll calls. Senate votes show Gore motion rejected 15-37 and passage 31-22 on a foreign investors tax bill. Byrd and Robertson noted, with Byrd not voting on both. House votes cover a $6.1 billion elementary and high school aid bill passage 185-76, and other measures including investment tax credits and mergers of major leagues, with multiple members listed as For, Against, or Not voting. Also notes a $5 billion supplemental appropriation amendment, with Downing and Hardy supporting, and several names not voting.
