Danville Brantly Plant Faces Shutdown Bid by 1973 Deadline

Funeral services are set for Harvey V Ammons 42 of South Boston at 2 30 PM Tuesday at Powell Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Halifax Memorial Gardens. He is survived by wife Anita, four daughters, three sisters, three brothers and two grandsons. Also noted is Silas D Brumfield 72 of 208 Bailey Place who died Monday at The Memorial Hospital of Danville after three years of declining health. He was a Sears Roebuck salesman and Keen Street Baptist Church member, survived by wife Mabel Heath Brumfield, one daughter Pegey B Singleton, three brothers, four sisters and two grandchildren. Funeral arrangements are incomplete with viewing at Townes Funeral Home Tuesday from 7 30 to p.m.
