Milley Wins Carolinas Golf Reporters Tour Title in Sudden Death
Al Milley the Bee Sports Editor won the Carolinas Golf Reporters Association Tournament at Myrtle Beach beating Tammy Bell on the first hole of a sudden death playoff for his second Carolinas tourney win in under a year. Bell tied Milley overall after three holes, but Milley sank a par putt from 14 feet after a sand trap approach while Bell three-putted. Milley credited a new irons set and a daughter gift for improved play. Morris Taylor and Ed Lewis each had a hole in one at Tuscarora Country Club, as over 120 golfers prepare for the Club Championship with finals May 23. Radford College beat Averett 8-1 in men’s tennis as Averett ends season 0-7.
