Controversial MMPI test used at UNC for study and screening
At UNC Chapel Hill a psychiatrist defends the MMPI as a clinical and research tool used with incoming freshmen and in student counseling. He stresses it should not determine admissions or job decisions, supports its use for prevention and understanding personality, and highlights privacy safeguards. The university emphasizes it will not influence freshman status and scores are not used for academic life.
