Reading man pleads guilty to stealing Patton tank

Michael Peter Zieniek, 21, of Reading, pleaded guilty to driving a 50 ton Patton tank owned by the Army Reserve without permission. He said he wanted to show a friend how to drive it after finding the tank outside the Reading Army Reserve Armory on March 13. Police described the tank’s path from the armory through a fence, three blocks, and a lawn before stalling on a sidewalk. Sentencing deferred for pre sentence investigation.
