Norfolk Condemned Man Appeals For Review Of His Case
Loren Neal Tuffield 26 condemned for the 1963 strangulation of a 14 year old baby sitter filed his first habeas corpus appeal in a Norfolk state court. Judge Jinwood B. Tabb will rule by June 15. Duffield claims illegal imprisonment due to improper handling and trial, cites illegal search and seizure ineffective counsel and the death penalty as unconstitutional. He testified calmly about his arrest and the reenactment, and led police to the body near Azalea Garden School.
