S.C. Man Sentenced To Life In Prison In Officer's Death
Vernon Clifton Carroll, 24, was sentenced to life imprisonment for the slaying of Greenville County Deputy John P. Martin after a 12 hour jury deliberation. A mercy recommendation spared the death penalty. two accomplices received multi year terms. The murder occurred last September.
