Police say Donald Langlois, 62, killed his wife Arlene after he listed her as deceased on a marriage certificate. He then married Christine Floyd, 58, about two hours later, and was arrested in Hollywood, Florida while honeymooning. Arlene Langlois died after a hammer attack claimed by Langlois during a Friday dispute.

Moscow The Agriculture Minister Valentin Mesyais announced a record 223.8 million metric tons of grain harvested in 1976 and said the plan is to lift average annual grain output to 235 million tons by 1980. He noted the USSR will meet its overseas grain commitments, including a six million ton minimum annual purchase from the United States, a target already exceeded in 1976. The 1976 figure surpassed the 222.5 million ton 1974 record but followed a disastrous 140 million ton 1976 low in earlier years.
