John Delaney, 19, of South Sioux City, was arrested Thursday by Patrolman A F Luke for passing worthless checks. He cashed $6 to $20 at several stores and is being held for investigation.
Two weeks of dairy demonstrations by Dakota county Farm Bureau boys and pick clubs show strong results. A team led by Joe Cushertion, John L. Stading, and Robert Blessing won 25 dollars for first in dairy demonstrations at the Nebraska State Fair. The county team placed fifth overall in junior work and third in dairy cattle judging, with twenty heifers from the purebred herd competing.
At the County Fair in Sioux City the Hartnett family led Hereford results with Donald first in Junior Herefords and third in open. Clement second in Junior. Jamnenw fourth in open. Shorthorns led by Earnest Sierk, Harry Larsen, Philip Boyle in Junior order. Hereford and Holstein prizes, heifer club awards, and a $100 Spooner gift to the Hereford club noted. Sale results show Herefords $593 average, Holsteins $456, top bids of $1000 and $900. A week at War Eagle camp with 25 boys and 3 girls saw strong stock fitting, with praise for exhibitors and news from the field.
