Farm Bureau disperses final heifers to area youths
The Farm Bureau notes the dispersal of the last heifers from top herds to Dakota City area youths. Herefords from A Spooner & Son Mondamin Iowa went to multiple Hartnett and related families and Ted Graham George Keacom and Warren Armour. Holsteins came from Corwin Farms Rock Valley Jows and Rengink Brothers Sheldon Iowa to Dakota City youths. Shorthorn heifers from Held Brothers Hinton Iowa were sent to Sierk Imann Morgan Larsen Daley Boyle in Dakota City and Jackson. Mr Held spoke on breeding and feeding to the group. Enrollment in Pig Club appears strong with many members already signed up.

Spraying Schedules Help Boost Cherry and Plum Crops
Nebraska Agriculture experts advise timing sprays as soon as shucks fall and again before ripening. Cherries yield 2 to 3 bushels if well cared for. plums average at least 2 bushels though pests may wipe out crops. A lime sulfur and arsenate of lead mix is recommended for 24y to 3 pounds arsenate per 6u gallons. avoid European or Japanese plums and peaches.
