M E Church notes announce Mothers Day observance next Sunday with a special sermon at morning service inviting all mothers. Wear a white flower and visit family. Evening service at 8 p m will feature a baccalaureate sermon for high school graduates by Pastor Alcock. A membership service by letter or probation is planned with date to be announced.
The Journal group papers grant a Ford touring car to the agent who turns in the most subscriptions between May 1 and June 30. Any person can become an agent and earns a commission on subscriptions. An extra prize of 25 dollars is offered to the agent with the most sales before May 11.
Hon J J McAllister paused in transit through on the way to Lincoln showing the wear of the long legislative session. Dr Ream sent Mr Keefe a panoramic aviation corps photo from San Diego with ambulance corps and flying machines in background. The picture was censored. the doctor adds he may seal hunt on Coronado islands and looks forward to the trip.
George Sadler, born in Jacksonville Florida and described as tall and gaunt, was brought to the Deputy U.S. Marshal and released after a tearful plea denying sympathy for anyone but himself. He claimed he fled a Missouri river bridge incident when guards challenged him and gunfire began.
A promotional note for Farmer and Breeder published in Sioux City Iowa markets its compendium of proven farming ideas from successful farmers breeders and government stations. The offer bundles a yearly subscription with The Herald for one dollar and includes free consultation on farming and stock raising.
