Eighth Grade Exam Rules And Dates Set By County
County Superintendent Alfred E. Voss answers reader questions on eighth grade exam dates subjects and locations. Examinations moved to March to avoid church conflicts with the North Nebraska Teachers association meeting at Wayne April 1 2 3. Exams may be taken in Emerson Waterbury Ponca or Dakota City with papers sent to Dakota City. Paper secrecy requires numbers not names. Bookkeeping required. law passed April 1819 and effective last July 19. Seventh graders may take eighth grade exams in certain subjects. seventh grade grades of 80 percent become permanent toward eighth grade completion.

Farm Bureau Field Notes Report on County Pure-Bred Live Stock Meeting
County Pure-Bred Live Stock association met and re elected C S Buckley as president and secretary. The group backs the Better Live Stock Crusade with Farm Bureau State College and the U S Department of Agriculture. It promotes pure bred stock, a boys and girls Heifer Club, and demonstrations on sweet clover, grain smut treatment, seed potatoes, rolling grain, and orchard planting. Members may join with notes for heifers and cost sharing for production. March 20 is close date for arsenate orders and drum sizes 26 and 50. Savings noted at 10 to 12 cents per pound.
