County Attorney Reverses Prosecution In Bandit Murder Case

HEBBHEEI County Attorney George Leamer of South Sioux City reversed his decision to prosecute the bandit for murder after a personal investigation following the inquest. He says evidence suggests the dead man is not Dewey Kinney and will pursue charges against Piazzi only when fully cleared. Kinney’s body has been sent to Johnstown. Local police say the third bandit implicated in the shooting may be arrested soon.

Dakota County Board Fixes 1920 Budgets and Juror List

Dakota City Nebraska January 13 1920 the board sets yearly expenses with funds for general bridge road and emergency needs. The session approves county judge report leases and lists 60 juror candidates from 1468 votes across ten precincts for the February district court term.

Meet Ends In Auto Crash Killing Dakota Stock Man

John B. Evans, field man for the Dakota Farmer paper, died instantly when the auto he rode in overturned after a front wheel came off while en route from Colton to Humtmer. His driver was seriously hurt but expected to recover. Evans, a prominent stockman and breeder of Durroc hogs, lived in Sioux City with his wife. He was born in Altoona on December 24, 1587 and educated at the University of Nebraska. Funeral services were held at Westcott chapel with Odd Fellows participation. burial at Graceland Cemetery. He was survived by his wife, his parents, a brother Robert Jr, another brother Kieth, and a sister Anna, with further survivors from Washington and Norbert, Mont.
