It is noted that hogs with access to a self feeder show better gains than those without. Feeders come in several types including pennecieeeders with a single door, double side feeders with a Goashe door on top, and single-side feeders with a top door. Dakota City boards set annual appropriations including county general fund 50000.00, bridge fund 39000.00, road fund 15000.00, mothers pension 2000.00, total indebtedness 74847.01. A February district court jury list is read, and road work wages for eight hours and dragging are approved. Hearing for Dakota City Drainage District set for January 23, 1922. Financials show improved indebtedness but tax arrears persist among banks and large corporations.
The board noted that if all taxes on the books were paid the registered warrants cited above would be paid and 15 percent of the levy would remain. The board adjourned to meet January 2, 1922. Geo. J. Boucher, County Clerk.
On January 1 the United States had a total of 1 401 000 telephones nearly three times Europe’s and about 40 percent of the world total. Of over thirteen million telephones in the country 84 100 000 are owned by Northwestern Bell and 17 associated Bell companies. The remaining 5 000 000 are owned by local mutual companies. A vast network of 31 700 000 miles of wire connects the system, nearly 60 percent of the world’s total.

A Warren man died after a glass bottle exploded while he opened it at his dinner table. A shard severed his throat, and he died several hours later.
