Injuries From Car Crash Endangers Mrs. Alfred’s Sight
A Minnesota trip ended with Mrs. Alfred losing sight in her left eye after a car struck a road hump. Glass sliver penetrated the eye during the crash. She underwent a delicate operation at St Joseph's Hospital in Sioux City with surgeons hopeful about the outcome.

Pioneers and Old Settlers 38th Annual Reunion
Today August 28 1919 at Clinton Park Dakota City features a program of music speaking and sports. Gov S R McKelvie of Lincoln will deliver the annual address. The K P Military Band of Sioux City provides music during day and evening dance. A ball game and other sports are planned in the afternoon.

Auto county tour shines with farm visits and dairy notes
An all day auto tour drawn twenty cars toured the county stopping at Chas McCarthy, Henry O Neill, Chas Blessing, Herman Ebel, W Heikes, and S A Mason farms. Inspectors highlighted Percheron horses Hereford cattle Poland China hogs and Holstein cows with a 12 666 pound cow producing near 16 000 pounds yearly and 600 pounds butter. A Hannah Ebel caporizing demo and a boys pig judging contest were noted along with beekeeping and hive equipment at Mason farm.
