In Zanesville Ohio Mrs Sirah Drew of Columbus drowned while learning to swim with her elder Mrs Nemmer using water wings. The wings collapsed and both women fell in. Mrs Nemmer was rescued.
Maxwell, forty, was found dead along the Licking river near Zanesville Ohio. The head was submerged and Coroner Walters ruled accidental drowning.

Six year old Theodore Saylor hid behind a rose bush while his nine year old brother Otto fired a shotgun in the front yard of their father's home in Millie Missouri.
