John Dudley from this city attended a gathering for Mr. Weatle Mustain two miles west of 1 Rue on Tuesday evening and planned to stay overnight. To shelter Dudley’s horses, Mustain lent space by turning three of his own horses into a field. During the night the Mustain horses escaped into a neighbor’s cornfield, were diverted by the neighbor, and all three were struck and killed by a freight train on the C. C and J. track.
