Obelisk sculpture in Castro Valley celebrates migrant laborers
Castro Valley artist Bob Miller dedicated his largest work, a 17 by 18 feet obelisk monument titled A Place of Peace, outside the Pers Cultural Arts Building. Preschoolers helped transfer their art onto the obelisks while Miller drew on ideas from the children and migrant labor contributions for the piece weighing over a ton with half the obelisks wooden and the rest metal.
