Washington insiders report the Eisenhower administration rejected a proposal from Walter Reuther of the AFL CIO Auto Workers for a management labor conference to curb inflation by cutting 1958 car prices. Labor Secretary Mitchell argued it conflicts with the policy to avoid interference in collective bargaining. Ring of counterfeiters busted in Boston raid

U S Secret Service says three men were arrested in Boston after a raid on a Worthington Massachusetts residence uncovered a complete counterfeiting operation. Authorities seized presses cameras ink paper plates negatives and thousands of counterfeit notes including 10 and 20 dollar bills and $1000 in uncirculated stock. Two Youths Die By Electrocution

Two youths died in separate electrocution accidents reported near California sites. Ronald J. Ortland 21 a San Jose State College student from Orinda was killed at a shopping center construction site when a crane struck a 12 000 volt overhead line. Crane operator Albert L Seud dex 38 San Pablo said Ortland warned touched the line and collapsed despite artificial respiration and adrenal treatment. A second boy about 11 or 12 a Saucedo Almond Grove worker at Durham was electrocuted while riding with companions after touching a high powered line near an irrigation pipe. He died at Chico hospital after the incident on a county road.

Big Leandro Motel Plans Denied by Garden Hotels VP

Santa Rosa hotel executive Jim Stockman denied his firm has definite final plans for a 600 unit motel in San Leandro. He said the site rumor of 32 acres at Castro Valley and Eastshore freeways is premature and the company is considering three sites in the San Leandro Hayward area for a hotel development in early planning stages. Two Convicts Found Slain at Louisiana State Prison

At Angola Louisiana two inmates were murdered apparently in their sleep. Warden Maurice Sigler said the bodies were found at 6 20 am each man hit several times with a meat cleaver the weapon hidden behind the janitors closet. One victim Billy Aldrich 23 serving life for a 1950 killing the other Clarence Joseph Gros 25 who entered in 1953 on a habitual theft sentence. The warden labeled it a double murder noting the men did not kill each other.

Noted Columnist Dur ng Dies in New York Hospital

E V Dur ing, nationally known writer of the column On the Side, died early today at Doctor's Hospital New York after a brief illness. He was 64, born in New York City, educated at Phillips Andover and Wesleyan University class of 1913. He began his newspaper career as a college student and correspondent for the Spring Held Mass Republican.
