Castro Valley teachers reject new contract proposal

Gunman seen near site of Ford talk
Police searched unsuccessfully Friday for a gunman seen near Kiel Auditorium where President Ford was to address the National Baptist Convention. A white male, 35 to 40, in a white shirt and black pants, was seen with a pistol before vanishing into a crowd. Ford continued campaigning with typical security measures including a visible vest and a circling helicopter.
