In New York a video dating service Videomate lets singles see and hear potential dates on closed circuit TV before meeting. For 60 dollars for 90 days, members submit profiles and interview tapes, then view others’ tapes and pursue mutually agreeable matches.
Antique lovers flocked to the Niles Flea Market in the Fremont district drawing an estimated 75,000 visitors. Mount Hamilton AP reports Nova Cygni 1975 a bright new object in Cygnus visible after sunset. Herbig of Lick Observatory says it shines as bright as the Big Dipper, about five degrees below Deneb, 1000 light years away, likely fading to original brightness in one to two years.
