The Southside Civil Rights Conference led by Dr Martha Luther King Jr reported 795,594 in total income for the fiscal year ending August 31. Of that, 383,041 was spent on civil rights activities, 263,258 set aside for future legal defense, and 88,633 net income after appropriations. Salaries totaled 93,042. Major contributions came from appeal letters 231,630 and freedom rallies 223,116 along with 204,725 from general contributions and 48,389 from benefit concerts.
