Weather note for the area calls for fair conditions today and tomorrow with slightly higher temperatures. Tonight’s low should be 47 to 54 degrees with light to moderate northwest winds 5 to 15 mph.
Statewide weather reports show fair conditions across Bay Area Sierra Nevada and Sacramento Valley with slight warming. Highs range from 63 to 84 degrees, with variable northwest to northerly winds and mild nights in coastal and inland zones.

Chet Holifield KD Calif vice chairman of the Joint Congressional Committee on Atomic Energy says the explosion will have worldwide impact and deepens every nation’s concern about peace or war. He notes no data on the weapon’s content but an analysis is in progress. He says China should be admitted to the UN only if it accepts nonaggression and emphasizes settling differences by negotiation over force, adding the US needs the UN more than ever as many nations possess nuclear weapons.

Highway patrol searched for the driver of a car that ran off Redwood Road in Castro Valley last night injuring two passengers. Larry Woodfill, 17, of 15272 Alvino Drive San Leandro, was named as the driver. Both passengers sustained minor injuries and were treated at a hospital and released. Officers did not know if Woodfill was injured.

ETEN Ma AP El mer Williams 74 of Long Beach California died Friday from injuries after a head on crash five miles south of Princeton on Wednesday. His bride, Abbie Eleming also of Long Beach, was killed instantly in Las Vegas wedding trip tragedy. Williams died en route to Kansas City after being transferred in an ambulance to Princeton Hospital.
