Fremont three alarm fire devastates Irvington center store

A three alarm blaze destroyed the Double A Supermarket and K and Liquors at the Irvington shopping center in Fremont. Firemen reported $525,000 in damage with $450,000 to the building and $75,000 to contents. No injuries were reported as investigators began work on the cause. About 29 firefighters battled the flames, which forced nearby shoppers to flee and drew a crowd of 500. Clerks claimed arson against broom racks, but officials could not verify.
