Hospital Strike Ends in Bay Area With Wage Increases
The Easthay Labor Scene reports the hospital union strike at Children's Hospital ended last night after pickets were withdrawn and workers return to jobs. Workers gained wage increases and recognition of their local bargaining agent though no written contract was secured. The union accepted raises of 2.50 monthly and a minimum wage boost to 146 with periodic six month raises until a 65 monthly maximum is reached. Ten days earlier AFL stationary engineers ended their strike at Merritt Hospital.

Domingos Rekilos, a longtime Alvarado resident and native of the Madera islands, died suddenly at his home on 950 Watrect Street.
