Reagan Poses With Senator's Infant Daughter in Sacramento
In Sacramento on Wednesday Gov. Ronald Reagan posed for photographers with Natalie Randolph Collier, the infant daughter of Sen. Randolph Collier, matching a past photo of the lawmaker's son with then Governor Ralph. Collier, 70, stated he secured Reagan's promise weeks ago for the picture. Natalie slept through the session as Collier and wife Barbara, 34, watched, and Reagan gave a silver comb and brush set as a gift.

Senate okays last chance remap in California
The California Senate approved a last chance reapportionment plan by 35 to 19, carving a San Joaquin Valley district and creating a new Mexican American district in Southern California. The two Alameda County districts would split into north and south, with Petris leading the north and Holmdahl the south. The measure now goes to the Assembly as lawmakers aim to package it with Assembly and congressional redistricting for Gov. Reagan.

Blackout prediction unfounded in California says Livermore
Norman Livermore head of the California Resources Agency said there is little basis for Governor Reagan's warning of looming brownouts and blackouts. He disputed the president's claim that critics blocked nuclear plants, noting earthquake fears, and suggested voluntary measures like turning off air conditioning could ease shortages. Livermore stressed not seeing a frightening energy shortage in California.
