Tragedy at Canyon Picnic Claims Two Brothers
Two young brothers Ronald J Trujillo 6 and Russell E Trujillo 7 drowned in Alameda creek near Niles canyon after wandering away from a family picnic. Their father Jose E Trujillo 31 and mother Doris 26 with help from a physician and Fremont firemen attempted resuscitation for over an hour but were unable to revive them. The boys had been warned to stay away from the creek and disappeared about 6:00 p.m. while picnicking in the Petit park area.
