Major Mokelumne water line in service boosts Eastbay flow
The 9th street aqueduct, a four and a half foot diameter pipeline over three miles, went into service to increase Mokelumne water into the East Bay Municipal Utility District. It connects Claremont Tunnel in Oakland to Emeryville and works with Wildcat and Sequoia aqueducts to relieve pressure and raise supply to central, industrial, commercial, and residential areas between the San Francisco and hills.
