Peterbilt Workers Return To Newark Plant Under New Contract
Peterbilt Motor Co. workers at the Newark plant, represented by Local 78 and four unions, return to work under a new three year contract. Wage increases total 37 cents for journeymen over the period with automatic raises for lower classifications. The settlement, reached Tuesday night, follows a March 4 walkout and aims to clear a heavy backlog as production resumes at a set schedule.
