CPA Takes Seat With AC Transit Board
Rinehart Bay H r. 32, of 180 Sardringham Road Piedmont, a certified public accountant with labor, business management and public service experience, was appointed to AC Transit’s board to fill a vacancy left by the Jan 3 resignation of Robert Barber who joined the Oakland Piedmont Municipal Court bench. Barber administered the oath. Rinehart previously drove trucks, served in the South Pacific during World War II, and earned CPA status in 195. He studied at UC Extension and Golden Gate College, and has held leadership roles in the California Society of Certified Public Accountants Eastbay Chapter and Catholic service groups. He also served on boards including St. Vincent’s Day Home and the Serra Center for Girls.

A state model of Chabot College’s proposed campus is shown in South County district venues ahead of the April 16 junior college bond vote. The display travels to San Lorenzo High, Woodrow Wilson Science Fair, San Leandro Library, First Western Bank branches in Astro Valley and San Lorenzo, and prior sites include Bank of America Livermore, Livermore High, Pleasanton, Amador, Dublin, San Ramon, and Castro Valley High. Exhibits run March 29 to April 15 at listed high schools with further plans for shopping centers before election day.
