Tideland Oil Bill Cleared For Local Beaches Funds
Sacramento reports the Assembly Committee on Manufacturing, Oil and Mining cleared a bill to set aside 1 percent of tideland oil income for local beaches. Sponsor James E. Whetmore, R-Los Alamitos, claims locals would have received about $168,000 in 1961 if enacted.
