Yalta Papers To Be Made Public Soon
Secretary of State Dulles said the long secret Yalta records will be released eventually but would not specify when. Senate leader Knowland argued for access by key congressional committees and rejected the idea Congress must rely on memoirs for official guidance. The State Department will study factors before deciding on public release while keeping papers available to committees on a confidential basis.

Defense Names Film Stars in Jelke Trial
Defense counsel invoked John Carridine and Mickey Rooney to attack Miss Ward’s credibility in Jelke’s two count compulsory prostitution trial. The attorney claimed Ward lured Rooney and others to California, sought a so called soft berth, and lived off her earnings as Jelke’s associate. Prosecution contends Jelke’s wealth and control over Ward show a prostitution scheme.
