Yalta Papers To Be Made Public Soon

Secretary of State Dulles said the long secret Yalta records will be released eventually but would not specify when. Senate leader Knowland argued for access by key congressional committees and rejected the idea Congress must rely on memoirs for official guidance. Window vandalism hits Castro Valley homes under construction

Andy Paisal, 52, superintendent for Hancock Construction, told deputies that juveniles used rocks and BB guns to break two more windows on S. Joseph street. He noted putty was cut around several panes as the ongoing vandalism extends in Castro Valley.

City Council To Rule on Car-Lot Buy

Hayward Planning Commission sent its master plan for city council approval to expand parking and improve access. Laramie Fire Kills 6 at Johnson Hotel in Blaze

A fire swept the two story Johnson hotel in Laramie Wyoming killing six men and seriously injuring five others. The victims were local residents and guests including Harold C Dahl Ed Boot Smith Irene Rich Berglund Walter Firmell and a sixth unidentified victim. Firefighters battled flames from 2 30 am until 5 30 am with many leaping from windows to escape. Coroner James E Bushey said the seriously injured were hospitalized including Ray Goodman Ray Hensmeier Hubert Simpson Glen Thompson Charles Ki Ta and Fred Hulete. The cause was not yet determined.

Karr Faces Final Defense Witness in San Francisco Trial

Capt. Car R Karr, Centerville Army officer accused of multiple offenses, was set to testify in his own defense in a court martial that began in February at the Presidio of San Francisco. Navy Lt.
