Neighbor's quick aid saves two year old in street crash
In a street crash on Wauchula Way last night a two year old boy named John D. Greer was struck by a car driven by Janet Romero. Neighbor Robert C. Dean rushed to the scene and twice breathed into the boy to restart breathing before the ambulance arrived. The child was taken to Eden Hospital for emergency care and later moved to Oak Knob Royal Hospital for possible head injuries.

A top floor fire at the five story Terrace Home for the Aged in Aurora drove elderly residents from beds. One man, Jasper Davis, is unaccounted for while four residents were admitted to Copley Memorial Hospital with smoke inhalation or burns. Firemen helped others escape via fire escapes or were rescued from upper floors. The blaze spread quickly as witnesses noted several patients jumped to safety.
