A man with a thin scar from mouth to the right ear robbed a Dial Finance branch at 9314 St Hayward. He entered about 11 10 am on Friday through a rear door, waved a revolver, ordered a staff member and two female workers to the back room, and took $24 from a cash drawer before forcing the workers into the back room.

Fremont man identified in field death
The coroner identified Karl Haines of 319 Peralta Blvd as the man found dead behind the International Kitchen at 555 Mowry Ave about 7:45 am yesterday. A small caliber gun was found near his head and he had four single gunshot wounds in his head. The cause of death is listed as a gunshot wound with method undetermined.

Hayward man badly injured in motorcycle crash
A 27-year-old Hayward resident remained in a coma at Highland Hospital Oakland with head injuries after a motorcycle collision on Sunset Street. Police say Patrick John Lucchesi rode east with Roger William Carroll and Lucchesi’s bike skidded 107 feet before stopping at the Western intersection. he was treated at Fairmont Hospital then transferred to Highland.
