Gerry Coleman Aims Return To Yankee Lineup
Gerry Coleman, out since April with a broken left collarbone, hopes to rejoin the New York Yankees within a week. He has been working out at Yankee Stadium and says his shoulder is stiff but his art and legs are in shape. Manager Casey Stengel may call on him as soon as a catcher or infielder, depending on health and form. Coleman, a veteran of World War II and Korea, once won the Babe Ruth award in 1950 for his World Series play and has battled back to form after a late 1954 resurgence.
