Frat Chastised for Indiana Hotel Drinking Spree
Seven Indiana Phi Delta Theta chapters faced sanctions after a March all night drinking party at a downtown Indianapolis hotel. The Scroll says two chapters were suspended until September, others placed on probation, and four chapters fined 500 dollars each while three paid 200 dollars. Fifteen students including 16 coeds were arrested in a vice squad raid, later dismissed, amid criticism of undergraduates holding a State Day without alumni supervision. Chapters in Indiana, Purdue, Wabash, DePauw, Butler, Hanover, and Franklin were involved. Six paddy wagons carried detainees. an officer called it a regular orgy.
