Heavy Rain Across Vast Regions Strikes Midwest to West

Severe weather swept the nation with tornadoes and heavy rain from the Far West to the Plains and Southeast. Tornadoes touched down near Champaign Texas and Kansas while floods threatened eastern Kansas and western Utah. Five Woodruff family members and two nephews were reported missing after their car was buried by flood debris near the Utah Wyoming border. No injuries were reported.

Truck Hits Wall Eight Painters North of Pasadena

In SOUTH PASADENA California eight housepainters swabbed an exterior wall when a driverless pickup truck rolled away and knocked the wall down. The truck struck no painters and no injuries were reported. Owner Thomas Havanis said the vehicle rolled 1000 feet, jumped a curb, and avoided obstacles as it careened down the yard. Damages to the wall were undetermined.

Hungary and Cuba signed an agreement to widen trade exchanges. Hungary will export industrial products pharmaceuticals and chemicals for Cuban ores chemicals and synthetic fibers.
