Israel Aircraft Industries and Bedek Aviation push into aircraft maintenance and manufacturing for export. IAI builds Arava STOL and Westwind jets, with 12 Aravas and 40 Westwinds produced. 13 Boeing 707s bought from TWA for resale at about $1.6 million each. Major customers include Europe and the Far East. operations span from Rome to Tokyo.
