Day School Celebrates Anniversary in Hayward
The Day Adult School program of Hayward Unified School District marked its third birthday with 88 diplomas at Bret Harte School. Leaders cited strong links with welfare, employment and anti poverty agencies, noting two thirds of graduates came via welfare or state employment referrals and the rest pursued diplomas for personal goals. The district reports 4,200 annual participants and an 86 percent employment rate among graduates, with two more vocational nurse programs finishing this month.
