Fall Fatality On Truck Claims Castro Valley Youth
A 17 year old Castro Valley youth Martin Francis Gorham was fatally injured when he fell from a moving truck and was run over by a rear wheel. The incident occurred near Lake Chabot and Walnut roads as the vehicle slowed to stop. He died at Eden Hospital about ten hours later at 3 50 a m. Services are planned at Valley Mortuary and Our Lady of Grace Church with the Rosary recitation tomorrow evening.

Robert Samuels of 19301 Washington street received treatment for minor burns. Local Woman A Death By Own Action In Hayward
A 30 year old Hayward woman died in a carbon monoxide incident in a garage. Her husband George D. Henwood 40 of Mandarin Avenue reported waking at 10 pm to the car running and finding Claire Henwood draped across a child’s coaster wagon near the door. She was pronounced dead at Fairmont hospital. A note on a pink envelope read I’m tired and I’m through you’ll be better off this way. Henwood said he has irregular sleep hours and cannot explain the tragedy. The couple had two boys aged 11 and 4.
